The Band

Steve Pinnell

Drummer Steve Pinnell is not like drummers in a lot of bands who sit quietly at the back of the stage. Well not exactly quietly – lets face it they are paid to make noise. You know what I mean though. The guy sitting behind the drum kit is heard but rarely seen. Well Steve is no ordinary drummer. In contrast to the quieter members of the drumming fraternity, Steve is someone who is at the very heart of the performance on stage.

Martin Bullard

Keyboard player Martin Bullard is a classically trained musician and Unisong award winner. His work may be heard in the Yorkshire TV series “An Innocent Abroad”, which charts the travels of Hannah Hauxwell, as well as at Scotland’s top tourist attraction The Loch Ness Exhibition Centre in Drumnadrochit in The Highlands.

Mick McConnell

2018 marks 22 years since a fateful phone call that would change the course of Mick McConnell’s career and send him on an unforgettable journey as a member of one of the UK’s leading rock bands.

Pete Lincoln

Pete has always enjoyed the challenge of performing solo with just guitar and voice, and took this to new heights in 2016 when he joined forces with former Sir Cliff bandmates Mick Wilson (10cc) and Peter Howarth (The Hollies), to form FRONTM3N. The trio performs acoustic arrangements of those iconic 70s hits they lent their voices to over the years. In 2018, FRONTM3N released their first studio album All For One featuring their own songs, followed in 2020 by the live CD/DVD package Up Close. This brings us up to date and to the brand new and hugely exciting challenge of taking up the baton as lead vocalist for Smokie. Pete can’t wait to get started.

Luke Bullard

Luke was born on 5th April 1993 in West Yorkshire. Born in to the band, with his Dad, Martin, being Smokie’s keyboard player, he travelled around Europe with his Mum seeing them play from a young age.

Having grown up surrounded by music it was no surprise showed an interest in playing himself. At the age of 7 he was at a Smokie gig and the sound engineer let him listen to an isolated mix of band of his choosing. Luke choose to listen to the guitar as it was the instrument that fascinated him the most. Martin was quickly told “I think your son wants to play guitar”. He started having lessons and was immediately hooked. His fondest memories of these  informative years were jamming with his Dad at home in the Highlands of Scotland and getting to play in Smokie sound checks.
